Looking through the records it’s been FIVE YEARS since we held a Silly Games Night.
For far too long, COVID, unsure finances and the Old Finchleians Flood event conspired to prevent the annual end of year FGC final fun filled frolic festival.
(I make NO apologies for the six word alliteration in that last sentence. It’s not often one gets the chance.)
Anyway, SGN is back!
The event is free (we treat it like an EGM), though all must still sign in.
There will be events with LG vouchers as prizes. *
There will be a £200 raffle, with LG vouchers broken down into various amounts for those who are present and stay until the raffle is drawn. (If you are not there, you don’t get anything if your number appears.) *
You are encouraged to bring ‘silly’ games, or one-shot RPG scenarios. We don’t twist arms of course, so the definition of ‘silly’ is up top you.
You are encouraged to brings cakes, Christmas snacks, chocolate and anything else you want to share.
(Prizes, sadly, are only available to full FGC members, though there is nothing preventing you from joining on the night.)
The proposed events are:
Five minute games of furious action. Limit of 20 people.
£2 or £3 entry fee (depending on how expensive the chocolate proves to be)
Standard Texas Holdem Poker Rules. Chocolate chips!
Limit of seven. (One table. Two tables WILL take the whole evening if people are seriously interested.)
Knock out your opponents coloured farmyard animals, with spring loaded dart guns. (This is SGN after all!) Four rounds, count how many you have left each time, added, gives your score.
Ties force a play-off.
Unlimited players (subject to time constraints)
(Subject to getting a working copy. It’s been out of supply for decades now and our (three?) copies haven’t been used for 5 years!)
Subject to getting all the elements working in time.
( NOTE: All LG vouchers still have the 10% discount available to FGC members. This is not normally the case, but we pay for it when we buy them. )
If you want to book into an event, please post here, or let me or another committee member know and I’ll keeps the lists updated.
Don’t forget:
