It is with sadness that we announce that for the first time in its 37-year history the FGC has been forced to suspend operations for the foreseeable future.

Give the extraordinary events we are experiencing this is the only course of action we can take. Especially given the nature of the actions we perform in sharing game markers and cards etc., in proximity, for 3-4 hours at a time.

We also have more than a few members who are in the ‘at risk’ category.

Safety is paramount.

Rest assured, the FGC will still exist when we emerge from our bunkers as we have sufficient funds to weather the storm. This is also true of our excellent hosts, the Old Finchleians, who have confirmed that the Thursday evening slot will be kept open until we return.

As to when that return will be, we simply do not know.

The FGC will be closed for at least the next 4 weeks. This includes the ‘All Day Sunday’ event planned for the 22nd of this month.

After that we will review as appropriate and announce the restart date as early as is prudent.

This page will still be active and monitored if people have questions or want to check in.

Stay safe. Stay sane.
